Michael nyman band

In October 1976 a bizarre group of musicians played Nyman’s score to Goldoni’s Il Campiello at the opening of the Olivier Theatre. Subsequently, the ensemble became the Michael Nyman Band.  Formed 40 years ago this autumn, the Michael Nyman Band has become Nyman’s ‘working model’ for all his work, in concert hall,  opera house and cinema.
